Hybrid Vinyl Plank Flooring has been described as the future of modern-day flooring, combining the surface durability of laminate with stability, as well as being 100% waterproof and possessing the same aesthetics as vinyl plank flooring. Hence the name “Hybrid Flooring”.
Made from multiple layers pressed together, the result is an extremely long-lasting, hardwearing, and visually striking floor, closely resembling an authentic hardwood floor.
Hybrid flooring is a floating flooring system, which has been designed to be extremely dimensionally stable when compared with other types of floating flooring.
The flooring normally varies in thickness from 5.5 mm to 7.5 mm and uses a click locking installation system to lock all the planks tightly together.
The surface is made up of a photographic image of timber which is covered by a tough textured wear-layer to provide durability and resistance to everyday wear and tear. To achieve this, we recommend a minimum of 0.5 mil wear layer.
The core of the planks is very ridged and is made of either stone polymer composites (SPC) or wood polymer composites (WPC). The planks are designed to be 100% waterproof and not swell when exposed to moisture from either above or below, unlike most other types of flooring.
No adhesive is used with the installation of Hybrid Vinyl Plank Flooring. The locked floating floor only needs a 5 mm to 7 mm expansion gap around the perimeter of the floor.
